REIMERS 47
Forcola Boatworks has been taking part in the full restoration of this beautiful vessel since 2018. This marconi sloop was designed by Knud Reimers and built in Denmark in 1939 from primarily oak and mahogany. BOATRIGHT ARTS has ambitiously embraced the monumental project of bringing this historic vessel into the contemporary era with modern advances in engineering and equipment, while honoring the timeless craftsmanship of wood boatbuilding. We are proud to have had an instrumental role in:
- Design and installation of 12v house electrical system
- Custom-built 48v electric motor installation
- Design and installation of house and motor battery charging systems (shore power + solar panels + wind turbine + prop regeneration)
- NKE instrument and autopilot installation (consulting and hardware provided by Sailutions USA)
- Fabricating traditional “yuloh” sculling oar from alaskan yellow cedar and carbon fiber (design by Antrim Associates)
- Fabricating and installing mahogany hinged electrical switch panels and numerous fitted mounting panels for electrical and safety components
- Fabricating and installing companionway steps, various access panels for concealed mechanical systems, and countless custom interior trim pieces from mahogany and cedar
- Designing and installing various custom bronze parts and fittings for structural reinforcement and traditional “yuloh” sculling oar
